About QR Zen

Two things, and both of them completely. It reads any QR code, barcode or data matrix your camera can see, and it builds 21 kinds of code of your own — from a plain link to a Wi-Fi network, a contact card, a calendar event or a payment.

Everything you scan or create is kept on the device so you can find it again, star the ones you use often, and export what you need.

Point the camera and the code is decoded the moment it enters the frame, or pick an image from your gallery and scan that instead.

The result is then parsed rather than dumped at you: a Wi-Fi code offers the password, a contact offers the card, a link offers to open. You always see what a code contains before anything happens — which matters, because a QR code is opaque until it is decoded.

Pick a type, fill in the fields, and the code appears as you type. From there you can change the colours, choose the module and corner shapes, and drop your logo into the middle.

A live contrast check warns you when a style has gone too far to scan reliably — so you find out before you print a hundred of them, not after. Export a sharp PNG, or a PDF sheet of your saved codes.

Codes are decoded and generated on the device, using the processor already in your hand. There is nothing useful a server could add, so there is no server — which is also why your codes stay private.

They are never uploaded, and the app behaves exactly the same with the network switched off. Analytics are opt-in and stay off until you turn them on. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

Every code QR Zen makes is static: the data lives in the pattern itself, not on a service that redirects it. A code you print today keeps working even if this app disappears tomorrow — which is not true of the “dynamic” codes most web generators hand out.

QR Zen is built and maintained by Noman Tariq, an independent developer. It is free — no in-app purchases, no subscription, no advertising, and no feature held back to sell you later.

It is written in Flutter and ships on iOS and Android from one codebase, in eight languages, with full right-to-left layout for Urdu.
